Featuring Abodo’s eco-timber cladding throughout.
In addition to being at the forefront of technology, the new Vodafone building in Christchurch has also been designed to the highest green building standards, becoming the first commercial property in Christchurch’s innovation precinct to be awarded a Green Star rating from the NZ Green Building Council.
The Green Star rating is independent certification of the building’s
many green features, including passive solar design, high performance
façade (featuring Abodo’s Vulcan Cladding), waste reduction and a design
that promotes natural ventilation and light for the wellbeing of staff.
Abodo’s Vulcan Cladding has been used extensively throughout the building, in both the interior and exterior. In the interior, timber features using Vulcan bring warmth and beauty to the stylish, technology-focused layout.
The strikingly dark Vulcan Cladding used on the exterior again brings beauty to the building’s design, but has also been chosen with the Green Star rating requirements in mind.
Durability, weatherability and sustainability are key reasons Vulcan has been used for this project.
Abodo timber is FSC® certified for sustainability, is locally sourced and has been through a patented treatment process which removes the need for the timber to be chemically treated. This means it’s safe for people and the environment, a great fit for a project of this kind which promotes sustainability and wellbeing alongside business success.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you.
Abodo was proud to be part of the first New Zealand Pavilion at Design Show Australia, with visitors to our stand going in the draw for a Cardrona Cabin Stay.
